CCPA / California Privacy Rights

Last updated: September 18, 2026 · Effective date: September 18, 2026

Template notice — read before publishing This page is drafted content covering the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, not legal advice, and not yet verified against your actual business. Whether your lead-sharing model counts as a "sale" or "share" of personal information under CCPA — and what similar laws in other states (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) require — depends on your specific business practices. Confirm the contact details below are correct and have a licensed privacy attorney review before publishing.

1. Who this applies to

This page describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.

2. Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA:

  • Identifiers — name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, IP address
  • Internet or other electronic network activity — pages viewed, links clicked, browser/device information, cookies
  • Geolocation data — approximate location inferred from your ZIP code or IP address
  • Inferences — the type of insurance coverage you appear to be interested in, based on the pages you visit or forms you submit

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, or health records through this Site.

3. Sources and purposes

We collect this information directly from you (when you submit a quote request) and automatically through your use of the Site. We use it to match you with licensed insurance agents, respond to your inquiries, operate and improve the Site, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

4. "Sale" and "sharing" of personal information

When you submit a quote request, we share your identifiers (such as name, phone, email, and ZIP code) with licensed insurance agents and Marketing Partners so they can contact you about relevant plans, as described in the TCPA consent you provide on the form. Because this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under the CCPA, you have the right to opt out, as described below.

5. Your rights under the CCPA

  • Right to know — what personal information we've collected, used, disclosed, or sold about you in the past 12 months
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we've collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out — of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (to the extent we collect any)
  • Right to non-discrimination — for exercising any of these rights

6. How to exercise your rights

To submit a request to know, delete, correct, or opt out, contact us using any of the methods below. We will need to verify your identity before processing most requests, typically by confirming the information you provide matches what's in our records.

  • Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: email privacy@insuristquote.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share," or call 1-800-555-0134, and include your name, phone number, and email address so we can locate and stop sharing your record.
  • Know / Delete / Correct requests: email privacy@insuristquote.com or call 1-800-555-0134.

We will respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days with notice to you).

7. Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authorization and may still require you to verify your identity directly with us.

8. Non-discrimination

We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of your CCPA rights.

9. Residents of other states

If you live in a state with a comparable privacy law (for example, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), similar rights may be available to you. Contact us using the details below and we'll process your request under the applicable law.
